The thrill a man gets from a good old fashioned chase and catch session is legendary. Whether it’s fishing, hunting, or girl getting, men love to pursue things that resist being tamed or possessed. Actually, men love the chase as much, if not more, than the capture.
What is not talked about very much is the thrill most women feel when they are being chased or diligently pursued.
One of the reasons that little is said about how good it feels, to some women, to be the object of a man’s intense pursuit, is that the women themselves usually do not even realize that they enjoy it as much as they do. There has also been so much effort on the part of women to become less objectified, that it would seem like a step backwards to acknowledge feeling flattered by being chased.
At first glance, the reasons that men love doing the chasing, and women love being the chased, may seem very different, but at their root the reasons become almost identical.
Unlike real hunting expeditions, when a man goes after a woman it is not usually to hurt her; at least that is not his conscious intention. Many men communicate the way they feel and think by way of their actions and behavior making a lot of what they do, their statement. A man chasing a woman is his statement to her. He is telling her that he appreciates one or more things about her and finds himself wanting to know more about her. To the woman he is chasing, this statement may seem like a promise of something bigger, but it’s usually not. For a lot of men their interest in the woman they are chasing is real and they may even think that once they have found a way to capture her, she will bring them the happiness they have been looking for. Unfortunately what ends up happening, for men who are habitual hunters, is once they have successfully conquered their prey, they realize the thrill is gone.
At some point in their lives, most women have experienced being chased after by men. And they know how those chases usually end. At first it may be very disappointing and painful for a woman who is suddenly no longer the object of the intense desire, to be just left alone. But after experiencing this confusing, but ego boosting phenomenon, it’s hard not to become addicted to it. Whatever the outcome of it, or the reasoning behind it, being sought after and wanted to the point of being chased, is one of those things that women should definitely enjoy while they can.
